Honus Wagner is considered by many to be baseball's greatest all-around player. The Pittsburgh Pirates' shortstop was a sensational hitter, a brilliant base-runner and a flawless fielder. He broke into the majors by hitting .344 in 1897 and put together 17 consecutive .300 seasons. He had a lifetime batting average of .329 and was in Cooperstown's first class in 1936. This 3-1/2" x 5-1/2" black and white Hall of Fame plaque postcard has been signed in black ink by Pirates HOFer Honus Wagner. Also a 3-1/4" x 5-1/2" Government Postcard dated 2/4/1947 which Wagner has signed and written a note upon in blue ink as follows, "Dear Fisher, Write to Jim Long Pittsburg Base Ball Club, Pittsburgh Pa, he has charge of them. Yours Sincerely, J. Honus Wagner, Pirates." Both have been pasted to black construction paper for insertion into a display binder. HOF postcard is EXMT with signature that grades an 8, GPC is EX with note and signature that grade a 7. Accompanied by a LOA from JSA.
