This 1923 Players Group Accident Policy from Edward & Booth Insurance and Surety Bonds, covered the American League Baseball Club of New York (i.e. the New York Yankees) during their first World Series Championship year at the new Yankee Stadium. Both Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig were covered under this policy, which is noted on the cover as “Policy No. 441864 – 23”. In addition to Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig, the 1923 team was comprised of other very notable players including Waite Hoyt, Herb Pennock, Benny Bengough, Ernie Johnson and Wally Pipp, along with many others that are covered under this policy. It is in NRMT overall condition.
