This RARE Yankees inventory list from October 1928 is a typed listing of the uniforms and sweaters that each player took that year. The list includes Ruth and Gehrig, who is noted as having “Lost Sweater in Chicago Last Trip”. The 1928 Yankees set a major league record by having nine players on the team who would eventually be elected to the Hall of Fame: Earle Combs, Lou Gehrig, Tony Lazzeri, Babe Ruth, Bill Dickey, Leo Durocher, Waite Hoyt, Herb Pennock, and Stan Coveleski. Manager Miller Huggins and team president Ed Barrow were also inducted. The New York Yankees won the World Series this year defeating the St. Louis Cardinals in a sweep, 4-0. The word “Uniform” is misspelled in the heading, and the piece is in overall NRMT condition with two light folds.
