AJ Burnett is one of the game’s premier starting pitchers, using a 95 mile an hour fastball and a mesmerizing 12-6 curveball to baffle hitters. In 2009, his first year with the Yankees, AJ Burnett proved his worth right out of the gate, picking up a crucial World Series win in Game 2 vs. Philadelphia, which evened the series at one game apiece and helped the Yanks claim their 27th World Championship. This lot offers the game-used home plate that was on the field in Yankee Stadium between June 2nd and June 8th, 2009, during which time Burnett picked up his first win at Yankee Stadium. The plate shows excellent game-use with plenty of Yankee Stadium dirt discoloring the plate and remaining stuck around its edges. Burnett has signed the plate in black sharpie with his number “34”. The signature rates an 8 and above it is an added written inscription “First win at stadium”. Comes with JSA and Yankees-Steiner LOAs.
