He played in 3 games for the New York Yankees in 1932 and then, after a lengthy stint in the minor leagues, played 279 games for the Chicago White Sox in 1944 and 1945, then retired. In the back inside collar is the “GOLD SMITH” manufacturers tag. Attached is the size “42” flag tag. Below is the felt strip tag with “SCHALK” in blue chain stitch. On the front left chest is the “SOX” logo in blue and red felt. On the back is the player number “6” in red on blue felt. On the left sleeve is the “WAR” patch. A piece of material has been cut from the back left tail, which does not detract from the appearance of this beautiful jeresy. The jersey shows game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind. Please note that a correction has been made to this lot and the printed catalog differs from what is online.
