In his 44 year Major League Baseball career, Charlie “Jolly Cholly” Grimm was best known for his time with the Chicago Cubs.  One of the most successful defensive first baseman in the Majors for 20 years, Grimm vacated his playing post in 1932 in favor of a managerial position with the Cubs.  In the back inside collar is the "WILSON" manufacturers tag. Attached is a size “44” flag tag. To the right is the “MAY & HALAS Inc. CHICAGO” tag. Below is the felt strip tag with “GRIMM” in black chain stitch. On the front left chest is the "CUBS" logo patch in red and blue embroidery on white twill. On the back is the player number "40" in blue felt. Inside the back waistband of the pants is the "WILSON" manufacturers tag. Attached is a size “40” flag tag. To the right is the “MAY & HALAS Inc. CHICAGO” tag. Next to that is the felt strip tag with “GRIMM” in black chain stitch. The beautiful uniform shows wear and appears to have no alterations of any kind. Accompanied by a MEARS LOA, graded A10.
