In 1998, Mark McGwire achieved national fame for his home run-hitting prowess in pursuit of Roger Maris' single season home run record; McGwire would break the record and hit 70 home runs that year. On the inside left front tail is the "Rawlings" manufacturers tag. Attached are additional manufacturer’s size "52" and “SET 1 1998” flag tags. Across the front is "Cardinals" in script and the "Cardinals on a Bat" logo embroidered in red, yellow and black. On the back is the player number "25" in red on navy blue tackle twill. Across the back is the player name "MCGWIRE" in red on navy blue tackle twill on a grey name plate. The jersey has a custom hemmed straight bottom to McGwire’s specifications. The jersey shows game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
