Chase switched jersey numbers and adopted #7 and wore size 44 and 46. In Chase's last season as a Bruin in 2000 he maintained the same jersey #7 and wore size 48. Given that players names were not placed on the back of the jerseys, the equipment staff would maintain jerseys from prior years and would reissue them if they were still in good shape. After Chase left U.C.L.A. the next player to wear #7 was Adam Berry but he wore a size 50. After the 9/11 attacks the Bruins placed the American Flag patch on all their jerseys in inventory. This jersey up for auction had a Flag placed on it in December of 2001. This jersey was obtained in March of 2002. This jersey was only worn by Chase Utley at U.C.L.A. in 2000 given that he was the only player to wear the #7 in a size 48 from 2000-2001. On the front left tail is the “Adidas” manufacturers tag. Attached is the size “48” flag tag. On front is “BRUINS” in blue on white on yellow triple tackle twill. Below and on back is the player number “7” in blue tackle twill. On the left sleeve is the embroidered “ADIDAS” logo. On the right sleeve is the Jackie Robinson “42”patch. On the back outside collar is a “USA Flag” patch. The jersey shows game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
