This black leather Rawlings Pro MODEL TPB shows excellent game-use and was manufactured in 1990-91. It is a left hand trapeze, gold glove series model. Rickey is widely regarded as the sport's greatest leadoff hitter and base runner, and he holds Major League records for career stolen bases, runs scored, unintentional walks, and leadoff homeruns. At the time of his last Major League game in 2003, the 10-time AL All-Star ranked among the sport's top 100 all-time homerun hitters and was its all-time leader in bases on balls. Rickey was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2009. On the back of the hand is the red Rawlings cloth manufacturer’s tag with “Henderson” written in. It also has Rickey’s two quarters held in by the leather strap, which kept his right hand in tight. Legend has it that Rickey’s family told him that he should always have quarters with him at all times in case he was in a situation or place that he did not like. The two quarters would have provided bus fare in such a situation. This is probably the finest Henderson mitt extant. Comes with a LOA from Henderson himself as well additional ones from JSA and Denny Eskin.
