This lot features a 16 inch Joe DiMaggio bat made by Louisville Slugger. Attached to the bat is a blue mini pennant that has the dates “1839” and “1939” on it as well as “Baseball Centennial”. Also included are 16 various vintage NY Yankees buttons. One has a picture of DiMaggio on the front with “Happy Birthday Joe DiMaggio”. Another has a picture of DiMaggio and Marilyn Monroe with “Monroe DiMaggio Fan Club”. 3 of the buttons have ribbons on them. One of these has a picture of Larry Berra with his name underneath. Another has a picture of Mickey Mantle with his name underneath and also has a metal bat and ball attached to a chain hanging from the button. A third says “New York Yankees” on it and has a plastic ball and bat hanging from a string. There is also an “I love Mickey” “Teresa Brewer” “Mickey Mantle” button which is attributed to the pop singer’s song about Mantle who is featured on the single. Another Mantle pin features a picture of him batting with “I saw Mickey Mantle at Echelon Mall Dec. 3, 1982” written around it. There is a “Babe Ruth Boys Club” button, a button saying “This pin certifies Babe Ruth shook my hand”, two “Babe Ruth Champions” buttons with Ruth’s picture in the middle, a “Member Babe Ruth Baseball Club” button, a button with “NYY” on it in old style NY Yankee lettering. There are also three buttons with Mantle, DiMaggio and Roger Maris on them respectively with each saying the respective player’s name underneath.
