Menko is a centuries old Japanese card game in which cardboard playing cards are placed on a flat surface and opposing players try to flip them over in order to gain possession of the cards from each other. The pictures on Menko cards reflect popular culture of the times. In postwar Japan in the 1950s, the game of baseball began to take hold among the population and along with this growing passion came baseball cards. This rare 1950s Babe Ruth Menko card has received a 9.5 GEM MINT rating from Beckett, the highest grading for a Babe Ruth card this old. Comes in a protective card case.
