Inducted to the Baseball Hall of Fame as a Montreal Expo in 2010, Andre Dawson’s 20 year career included a Rookie of the Year award in 1977 and a National League MVP nod in 1987, when he also started on the NL All-Star team and won the Homerun Derby. In addition to racking up 438 career homers, Dawson also collected this 1985 Gold Glove Award, which was his sixth of eight, for his outfield play in Montreal’s Olympic Stadium. This beauty measures 16” high and prominently displays a gold tinted Rawlings outfielder glove. The three-tiered wood base measures 17” wide, with the second tier displaying a gold plate with the words “1985 Rawlings Gold Glove Award Presented To ANDRE DAWSON”, below which it continues “Honoring His Selection To The Sporting News National League All-Star Fielding Team”. Two red Rawlings logos appear on the gold plate on either side of the engraving. The third tier depicts an etched image of Dawson’s face in his Expos cap, also on gold plating. On either side of the glove itself, two gold tinted Rawlings baseballs sit inside three-pronged holders. The award is in overall EXMT condition, with a scuff on the topside of the right baseball.
