Gordie Howe’s remarkable achievements on the ice and his super human longevity in the professional game (he played until age 52), have given him the richly deserved titled “Mr. Hockey”. After retiring from the NHL in 1971, Howe’s itching desire to get back on the ice led him to sign a contract with the WHA Houston Aeros, where he joined his two sons, Mark and Marty. In his first season in the WHA at age 46, Howe recorded a 100 point season and was awarded the league MVP. This blue and teal Cooper glove was worn by Howe during his last game with the Aeros, and it shows excellent game-use with scuff marks all over the outside of the glove and very worn in leather on the inside of the glove hand. Howe had signed the top of the glove in blue marker, but the barely visible signature has faded over the years, now rating a 2. This glove comes from a prominent Houston resident and ex-professional athlete to whom Howe gave this glove following his last game. Comes with a LOA from JSA and an additional LOA.
