Messier spent a quarter of a century in the NHL (1979-2004) with the Edmonton Oilers, New York Rangers, and Vancouver Canucks. Widely considered among the best NHL players of all time, he is also among the greatest leaders in the game's history. He is second on the all-time career lists for regular season points (1887), playoff points (295) and regular season games played (1756). He won six Stanley Cups, five with the Oilers and one with the Rangers, and is the only professional athlete to captain two different teams to championships. Due to his size and strength, he was nicknamed "The Moose". In 2007, he was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame, in his first year of eligibility. In the back inside collar is the "NIKE" manufacturer’s size XL/TG tag. On the front is the large “OILERS” logo in orange, blue, and white tackle twill. On each sleeve and on back is the player number "11" in orange on blue on white tackle twill. Across the back is the player name “MESSIER” in white tackle twill on a blue name plate. On the front left breast is the Alternate Captain’s “A” patch in orange on blue on white tackle twill. On the back lower left tail is the “NIKE” logo in white screen print. Fight strap is intact with a shoe lace attached. The jersey shows game use with at least 17 team repairs with stick marks and board burns and appears to have no alterations of any kind. Accompanied by a LOA from Rich Ellis, Spirit of The Game.
