After an All-American career at the University of North Carolina (UNC) (1978–1981), Taylor was drafted by the Giants as the second overall selection in the 1981 NFL Draft. On the front left tail is the "GERRY COSBY" manufacturers tag. Attached is a "L" flag tag. Above is the "Designed & Tailored Exclusively for New York Giants" tag. To the left is the "90" embroidered strip tag. On the front, back and on each sleeve is the player number "56" in blue on red screen print. Across the back is the player name "TAYLOR" in blue vinyl lettering on a white name plate. Cuffed elastic sleeves. On the left sleeve is the “MacGregor” logo patch. The jersey shows moderate game-use with multiple team repairs and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
