In 1956, the New York Football Giants claimed their fourth World Championship of the pre-Super Bowl era. This star studded team was led on the field by future HOF players Gifford, Huff, Brown, and Webster, and on the sideline by future HOF coaches Howell, Landry, and Lombardi. This quite rare, size 11 to 11-1/4 10K gold championship ring weighs 24-1/2 grams (just under 1 ounce). It displays a rectangular sapphire-blue translucent stone on top, inside which is set a round diamond cz. Above the midnight blue stone is the casting “N.Y. GIANTS” and on the bottom is a recap of the score, with the casting “N.Y. 47 CHI. 7”. On either side of the centrally placed ruby are vertical castings reading “WORLD CHAMPIONS”. On the left panel is a gold casting depicting a Giants player passing a football from behind the New York City skyline, underneath which is the number “19”. The year is completed with a casting of “56” on the bottom of the right panel, which sits underneath an engraving of “NFL”. Inside the ring is deeply stamped the manufacturer’s name “DIEGES AND CLUS” and “10 KARAT”. Ring is in overall NRMT condition and comes in a black velour box.
