After enjoying a World Championship with Seattle in 1979, Dennis Johnson became an integral part of Larry Bird’s Boston Celtics, collecting his second Celtics Championship with the Celtics in 1986. Johnson’s defensive play, for which he was known throughout his career, was key to Boston’s six game victory over Hakeem Olajuwon and the Houston Rockets. Johnson would ultimately close out his 14 year career with the Celtics, amassing 15,535 points, 4,249 rebounds, and 5,499 assists in a career that is sure to lead to a Hall of Fame selection. This size 11, 14K gold ring was presented to Johnson for his third and final career World Championship with the 1986 Celtics, and was obtained directly from Johnson’s family. The top boasts a diamond version of the Larry O’Brien championship trophy, with 16 inlaid diamonds on the base, and one large diamond acting as the basketball. This sits over a green sapphire Celtics clover, around which are the words “BOSTON CELTICS WORLD CHAMPIONS”. On the left panel is the year “1986” around a green NBA logo. Underneath this is a small engraving bearing the word “TEAMWORK”. The right panel displays a casting of the player name “JOHNSON” above a beautiful Celtics logo, which includes the words “16 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS” in commemoration of the Celtics 16 all-time NBA titles. The word “PRIDE” is engraved on the bottom of this panel. The ring is in overall NRMT-MT condition and comes in the original wooden presentation box, which has a clear window on top though which the ring can be viewed. It says “BOSTON CELTICS WORLD CHAMPIONS 1986” and below that is a plaque bearing the player name “DENNIS JOHNSON”, with a green felt interior. Comes with a family LOA.
