Lawrence Peter “Yogi” Berra was enshrined in Cooperstown in 1972 and his number “8” is retired by the New York Yankees. On the left front tail is the “Wilson” manufacturer’s tag with wash instructions and jersey size “44”. Adjacent is a white strip tag with “76 Set 1” indicating jersey year and set, respectively. Inside the rear collar is a white strip tag with coach’s name “Berra” embroidered in navy blue chain stitch. On the left breast is the team interlocking “NY” logo done in navy blue tackle twill which has been restored with a period “NY”. The Coach’s number “8” appears on back also in navy blue tackle twill. The jersey shows wear and other that what is mentioned appears to have no further alterations of any kind.
