Perhaps the most amazing stat when discussing NY Yankee Captain Derek Jeter is that he has played each of his 17 years in the big leagues for one team, the New York Yankees. A twelve-time All-Star and five-time World Series champion, Jeter's clubhouse presence and on-field leadership made him a central figure of the franchise during the Yankees' success over the past two decades. In 1996, he became the Yankees' starting shortstop and won the Rookie of the Year Award. Jeter's achievements include four Silver Slugger Awards, five Gold Glove awards, All-Star Game MVP Award, World Series MVP Award, and most recently, membership in the ultra exclusive 3,000 hit club; a feat yet to have been accomplished by any NY Yankee in the team’s storied history. Both Cooperstown and Monument Park await number 2. On May 5th, 2010 at the Stadium vs. Baltimore, Jeter had one hit, one RBI and scored two runs to back Andy Pettitte in a 7-5 Yankees victory. On the left front tail of the Captain’s jersey is the “Majestic” manufacturer’s tag with MLB (LH 882524) and Steiner (159346) hologram stickers affixed. Attached are two flag tags, “2010” and “48”. On the left breast is the team interlocking “NY” logo. On back is player number “2”. All numbers and letters are done in navy blue tackle twill. At the back of the neck is the official MLB embroidered logo patch. The jersey shows good game-use with dirt staining on front and appears to have no alterations of any kind. Accompanied by a LOA from Yankees-Steiner as well as what appears to be a photomatch of Jeter wearing this shirt.
