On the left front tail is the “McAuliffe” manufacturer’s tag. Embroidered below are two tags, the “‘65” year tag and the size “44” tag. Across the front is “RED SOX”. On the back is the player number “19”. All numbers and letters are done in blue on navy blue felt. The jersey shows game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind. It is accompanied by a copy of a LOA from the Red Sox former batboy that states, in part, “I was an employee of the Boston Red Sox from 1972 to 1980 as a batboy and clubhouse attendant…I was given this 1965 Jay Ritchie #19 home shirt by the equipment manager”.
