Inside the rear collar is the “McAuliffe” manufacturer’s tag with the size “44” tag embroidered directly below. On the center, front tail are two tags, the “1977” year tag and a wash instructions tag. Across the front is “BOSTON”. On the back is the manager’s number “34”. All numbers and letters are done in red on navy blue tackle twill. The jersey shows good wear with what appears to be tobacco juice stains on front and appears to have no alterations of any kind. It is accompanied by an LOA from the team’s former batboy that states, in part, “I was an employee of the Boston Red Sox from 1972 to 1980 as a batboy and clubhouse attendant…I was given this 1977 Don Zimmer #34 road shirt by the equipment manager”.
