This size 9.5, silver ring weighs 20 grams and was presented to Charles Scott as an honoree of the National Association of Basketball Coaches upon his 25th anniversary of graduating the University of North Carolina, where he was the first black scholarship athlete. A gold medalist at the 1968 Summer Olympics, Scott played two seasons in the ABA, and eight in the NBA, where he was a five-time NBA All-Star. The top panel reads “NABC HONOREE” in relief surrounding a blue synthetic stone. The right panel features an engraved banner that reads “1970-1995” above a casted image NABC logo and an additional banner that reads “4-2-95”. The left panel features an engraved banner with the name “SCOTT”, above a casted image of a basketball that reads “NABC 25th ANNIVERSARY” and an additional banner engraved “NORTH CAROLINA”. The inside of the ring is stamped “CE LGB”. The ring is in EXMT condition with light wear.
