George "The Iceman" Gervin was a star shooting guard for the ABA's Virginia Squires and San Antonio Spurs. Gervin averaged at least 14 points in all 14 of his ABA and NBA seasons, and finished with an NBA career average of 26.2 points per game. His first scoring crown in 1978 was one of the most memorable moments in NBA history. Gervin defeated the Denver Nuggets' David Thompson by seven hundredths of a point (27.22 to 27.15). Although Thompson came up with a memorable performance for the last game of the regular season, scoring 73 points, Gervin maintained his slight lead by scoring 63 points (including an NBA-record 33 in the second quarter). Gervin went on to lead the NBA in scoring average three years in a row from 1978 to 1980 and again in 1982. George Gervin had the most scoring titles of any guard in league history. He was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1996, the same year he was voted an NBA Top 50 Player. Player number “44” appears on both the front and back. Player name “GERVIN” appears across the back. All numbers and letters are done in black on grey tackle twill. Gervin has signed the front of the shirt in black marker adding the inscription “Iceman 44” rating an 8-9. Inside the rear waistband of the shorts is the “Sand-Knit” manufacturer’s tag with wash instructions and size “32”. Player number “44” is written in black marker. On the right leg is the “NBA 35th Anniversary” patch. On the left leg is the team “Spur” patch. Gervin has added his signature ain “Iceman 44” inscription in black marker rating an 8. The uniform shows game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind. Accompanied by a LOA from George Gervin as well as a LOA from JSA.
