Although David Cone began his career pitching for his hometown Kansas City Royals he was quickly traded to the Mets prior to the 1987 season. After establishing himself as a dominant pitcher in New York including a 20-3 record in 1988 Cone was traded to Toronto and played a major role in their 1992 World Series Championship. After another stint in Kansas City Cone was traded back to New York in 1995--this time with the Yankees. Over the next 6 seasons Cone would help the Yankees win 4 World Series Championships and even pitch a Perfect Game on July 18 1999 -- the signature game of his outstanding career. On July 18 1999 against the Montreal Expos with Don Larsen and Yogi Berra in attendance David Cone becomes only the 17th pitcher to throw a perfect game. He struck out 10 and it took him only 88 pitches to complete the game. Joe Girardi his catcher that day and Cone have each hand signed this 8x10 photograph with the inscription 'PG 7-18-99.' This item also comes complete with a Steiner Sports certificate of authenticity.
