This trophy weighs roughly two pounds and features three silver-plated bats and a gold-plated baseball atop a black wooden base. The home plate shaped black wooden base measures 6-3/4” x 6-3/4” x ?”, there is a plaque on the front that reads “1978 THE CHAMPIONS OF JAPANESE PROFFESIONAL BASEBALL - YAKULT SWALLOWS”. Three silver-plated baseball bats, each measuring 6” long, rest in small round three depressions in the base. A silver ring helps prop the bats up which in turn display a gold-plated baseball with the Yakult Swallows’ “YS” logo in relief. There are two dents in the ball with some crackling in the gold-plating. We were told by our consignor that the trophy was given to former Milwaukee Brewers owner and current Commissioner of Major League Baseball, Bud Selig, and that the trophy came out of Selig’s office when the team moved operations to the new Miller Park. The trophy is in EX condition and is accompanied by an additional LOA.
