The gloves are “CLETO REYES” manufactured red leather with white trim. The manufacturers logo along with “HECHO EN MEXICO” appears on the outside of both gloves in black and white screenprint. The white laces are fully intact. Written on the “CLETO REYES” logos outside of the right glove in black marker is “OSCAR #1” and the initials “R.A.”, possibly penned by De La Hoya’s trainer Robert Alacazar. The same “OSCAR #1” can be partially seen on the corresponding region of the left glove; a portion of the screenprint detached when the tape around the wrist was removed after a fight. The gloves show use and are in EX condition, they are accompanied by candid photos from inside De La Hoya’s camp, a February 1996 issue of Boxing Illustrated with the De La Hoya’s camp on the cover, as well as fight credentials from Oscar’s May 6, 1995 fight against Rafael Ruelas at Caesars Palace. De La Hoya wore a pair of red “CLETO REYES” gloves with white trim identical to these in the Ruelas fight.
