One of the greatest & most electrifying fighters ever, Thomas Hearns, along with Sugar Ray Leonard, Marvelous Marvin Hagler, and Roberto Duran defined an era in boxing. Hearns became the first boxer in history to win World Titles in 4-divisions, and later, would also become the first fighter in history to win 5-World Titles in five different weight classes. After compiling an incredible 155-8 amateur record, winning the 1977 National "Golden Gloves" Championship as a Light Welterweight, Hearns would begin his professional boxing career under the tutelage of the great Emanuel Steward in Detroit, Michigan, at the famed Kronk Gym. The "Motor City Cobra" fought from 1977 to 2006, being named "Ring Magazine Fighter of the Year" two-times (1980 & 1984), and was part of that legendary foursome, whose round-robin mega fights thrilled fans with numerous action fights, that carried boxing in the 1980's. Thomas Hearns finished his illustrious career with an impressive 61-5-1 record, 48-KO's, and will be inducted June 10, 2012, into the Boxing Hall of Fame. This rare, "Kronk" era fight-worn robe, is made of heavy, terry-cloth velour, and shows tremendous staining. It was obtained along with many other one-of-a-kind boxing items from a gentleman who worked for Don King Promotions in the late 1970's to mid 1980's, and is truly museum quality. The robe is properly tagged, was presented to us a fight worn and in our opinion, shows outstanding use.
