This jersey was worn by Hakeem Nicks of the NY Football Giants on January 15, 2012 during a playoff game at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, WI against the Packers. The Giants crushed the heavily favored Packers team by a score of 37-20 on their way to a Super Bowl victory a few short weeks later. The Giants stunned the Packers with a touchdown off a long heave from Manning to Hakeem Nicks just before halftime, a photo that was captured the following week on the cover of Sports Illustrated. This is the jersey that Nicks wore to make that catch, photo matched to the SI cover. Inside the rear collar is the “Reebok” screened on label. Player number “88” appears on the front, back and on both shoulders. Player name “NICKS” appears on back on a white nameplate. All numbers and letters are done in red tackle twill. The jersey features custom cut sleeves tailored to Nicks’ specs. At the V-neck are the “NFL Equipment” logo shield and embroidered “NY”. On each shoulder is a felt “Reebok” logo patch. Nicks has signed the back number in black marker adding the inscription “Game-Used 1-15-12 7 Rec 165 Yds. 2 TD’s vs. Packers Giants Win 37-20” rating an 8. The Steiner hologram sticker is affixed. The jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion, shows outstanding use. It is unwashed with numerous grass stains and hit marks throughout. Accompanied by a LOA from Hakeem Nicks himself on Steiner letterhead as well as a JSA LOA for the signature.Other than what is mentioned, there appear to be no further alterations of any kind.
