Hall of Famer “Handy Andy” Phillip played in the first five NBA All-Star Games, and was twice named to the All-NBA Second Team. He was the first player to record 500 assists in a season. The 1957 Boston Celtics won the NBA Championship with a roster that included Russell, Cousy, Sharman, Risen Heinsohn, Ramsey and Andy Phillip. This is the first road version of this jacket to ever surface and only the second Andy Phillip item known. Inside the rear collar is the “Wilson” manufacturer’s tag with size “42”. Across the front is “BOSTON” in white satin block letters. On back is player number “17” done in the same white satin numbers. There was a black armband removed from the left sleeve. The jacket is properly tagged, was presented to us as worn and in our opinion, shows wear. Other than what is mentioned, there appear to be no further alterations of any kind.
