Jerry West’s Hall of Fame career was highly successful. Playing the guard position as a professional, he was voted 12 times into the All-NBA First and Second Teams, was elected into the NBA All-Star Team 14 times, and was chosen as the All-Star MVP in 1972, the same year that he won the only title of his career. West holds the NBA record for the highest points per game average in a playoff series with 46.3. He was also a member of the first four NBA All-Defensive Teams, which were introduced when he was 32 years old. Having played in nine NBA Finals, he is also the only player in NBA history to be named Finals MVP despite being on the losing team (1969). West was inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in 1980 and voted as one of the 50 Greatest Players in NBA history in 1996. This jersey was obtained by our consignor who did work for Jerry West’s son in his house. During the 1973 All-Star Game, West scored six points, had three assists and four rebounds. This jersey was originally sourced from the West family. How often do you see the same name on front as on back?...This may be the only time as there is “WEST” on front and back. On the left front tail is the “Wilson” manufacturer’s tag with wash instructions and jersey size “42”. Written in black ink is “2”XL”. Across the front is “WEST”. Player number “44” appears on both the front and back. Player name “WEST” appears across the back. All numbers and letters are done in red on blue tackle twill. There are two twill stars on both the front and back done in the same red on blue pattern. The jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion, shows appropriate use. This is the only West All-Star offered to the public.
