Bill Walton was drafted by the San Diego Conquistadors of the ABA and also taken as the number one overall by the Portland Trailblazers in the 1974 NBA Draft.. After signing with the Trailblazers, he was hailed as the savior of the Portland franchise and led them to an NBA Championship in 1977. His number “32” was retired by the team and in 1996, he was voted one of the NBA’S 50 greatest players of all time. Hall of Fame Class of 1993. On the left front tail is the “Oregon Athletic – Washington Athletic” tag. This tag was sewn over the original ‘Sand-Knit” tag with the size “44” portion of the tag remaining. Directly above is the “Sand-Knit Designed & Tailored Exclusively for Portland Trailblazers” tag. Across the front is “blazers”. Player number “32” appears on both the front and back. All these numbers and letters are done in red on black tackle twill. There is a number change from number “43”, originally worn by William Smith during the 1972-73 season. The shirt was then held over until the 1974-75 season. Player name “WALTON” appears on back in red tackle twill with a red embroidered border. There is a name change on back. Walton has signed the front in a large signature in black marker rating an 8. Under the rear waistband of the matching shorts is the same “Oregon Athletic – Washington Athletic” tag sewn over the original “Sand-Knit” tag leaving the size “36”. Above is the “Sand-Knit Exclusive” tag. On the right leg is the team logo embroidered in black and white chain stitch on red tackle twill. The uniform is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion, shows excellent use. Other than what is mentioned, there appear to be no further alterations of any kind.
