In 1974, Rollie Fingers was awarded the World Series MVP after leading his Athletics to a third straight World Championship, earning two saves and one win. He was on the Oakland A's team that accomplished the first modern-day "three-peat," winning the World Series in '72, '73 and '74. Rollie was a seven time All-Star, his number “34” was retired by the Athletics and he was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1992. Inside the rear collar is the “McAuliffe” manufacturer’s tag. Below is the size “44” label. On the left front tail is the year “1974” label with adjacent wash instructions label. On the left chest is the team “A’s” logo. Player number “34” appears on back. All these numbers and letters are done in white on yellow tackle twill. Player name “FINGERS” appears across the back in white tackle twill. Rollie has signed the front team logo in black marker rating an 8. On the inner waistband of the white pants is the “McAuliffe” tag. Below is the year “1973” tag and a wash instructions label. Adjacent is “34 26” embroidered in green chain stitch indicating player number and inseam, respectively. There is a large team repair on the right hamstring. The jersey and pants are properly tagged, were presented to us as game-used and in our opinion, show appropriate use. Also included is a “New Era” cap, size “6-7/8” with player number “34” written under the bill. The cap is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion, shows appropriate use. The cap is accompanied by a hand-written note on “Rollie Fingers HOF” stationary stating “This is a cap worn during the 72 season by me”, signed by Fingers. The lot is accompanied by a LOA from JSA.
