Willie McCovey played the majority of his Hall of Fame career with the San Francisco Giants. In 1976, he was traded to the Oakland Athletics and played 11 games. This jersey is extremely rare. On the center front tail is the “McAuliffe” manufacturer’s tag. Adjacent are three additional tags, “1976”, “44” and a wash instructions label. On the left chest is “A’s”. Player number “44” appears on back. All these numbers and letters are done in yellow on green tackle twill. Player name “McCOVEY” appears across the back in green tackle twill block letters. On the left sleeve in the bicentennial patch which is very rare. The jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows appropriate use.
