We were told by our consignor that these were all Appling’s. Inside the rear collar of the bench jacket is the “Rawlings” manufacturer’s tag with size “42”. Number “4” is written in black marker. At the left chest is the “SOX” logo in white tackle twill. On the inner waistband of the game-used home pants is the “Wilson” tag with the size washed out. Adjacent is a strip tag with “Appling” embroidered in blue chain stitch along with “1970-1-24” and Appling’s signature done in black marker rating a 6. The belt is intact. Accompanied by a “McAuliffe” long sleeve undershirt and White Sox cap, Wilson manufactured with “4” written under the bill. Adjacent is something crossed out and covered with black marker. The lot was presented to us as worn by Appling and in our opinion, shows wear. Accompanied by a LOA from JSA.
