Willie McCovey played nineteen seasons for the San Francisco Giants. One of the most intimidating power hitters of his era, McCovey was called "the scariest hitter in baseball" by HOF pitcher Bob Gibson. For his career, he belted 521 home runs and drove in 1,555 RBI’s. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1986. Inside the rear collar is the “Wilson” manufacturer’s tag with wash instructions and jersey size “44”. On the left front tail is an orange strip tag with “44 79” indicating player number and jersey year, respectively. Across the front is “Giants”. Player number “44” appears on both the front and back. Player name “McCOVEY” appears across the back on an orange nameplate. All numbers and letters are done in black on white tackle twill. The jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows excellent use.
