Inside the rear collar is the “A.G. Spalding & Bros” manufacturer’s tag. Below is the size “42” label. On the left front tail is “Jim Russell 51-2” embroidered in navy blue chain stitch. Inside the left front tail is a wash instructions label. Across the front is “Dodgers” in blue felt script-style lettering. Player number “37” appears on front in red felt and on back in blue felt. The sleeves were shortened and the 1951 patch was removed after the fact. There appears to be evidence of the patch. The jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion, shows excellent use. The shirt was most likely used in spring training. Other than what is mentioned, there appear to be no further alterations of any kind.
