On August 28, 1945, Esquire Magazine sponsored the "Esquire All-American All-Star Game." The patriotic exhibition featured a host of amateur sandlot players and minor leaguers, pitted against one another, with both Babe Ruth and Ty Cobb as the "Celebrity Managers." The offered beautiful jersey was worn by Art "Pinky" Thrasher was worn just once. The colors are extremely vibrant, the patches are amazing, and original. Inside the rear collar is the “Wilson” manufacturer’s tag with attached size “42” flag tag. Below is a felt strip tag with “Art Thrasher” embroidered in black chain stitch. Across the front is “ALL AMERICAN” done in red felt block letters. Player number “9” appears on back in the same red felt. On the left sleeve is the “US Physical Fitness” patch along with “1945” embroidered in red felt numbers. On the right sleeve is “Esquire” embroidered in red felt along with a face patch embroidered in multi-colored chain stitch. The jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as All-Star game used and in our opinion, shows appropriate use.
