1951 Bowman Baseball Card Near Complete Set (99% Complete)

This lot includes the remaining 316/324 cards in the 1951 Bowman set. 16% VG-EX or lesser with Spahn; 76% EX-EXMT with Rizzuto, Reese, Feller, Ashburn, Williams, Kell, Durocher, Roberts, Wynn, Mize, Dickey, Dobey, Thomson, Kluzuski, Shoendienst. 7% NM or better with Bob Lemon.

Lots 308 - 312 in this sale combine to make up a complete 1951 Bowman card set. This historic baseball card set totals 324 cards and features color-art reproductions of actual photographs. The size of the cards was increased to 2 ¹/16" by 3 ¹/8". For collectors, this is the most valuable of the Bowman sets and one of the more valuable sets ever issued by any maker, due in large part to the presence of rookie cards for both Mickey Mantle (card #253) and Willie Mays (card #305). These are the two most valuable single cards Bowman ever issued.
