Lot of five Hall of Famers cards from the 1951 Bowman set, each encapsulated by PSA/DNA and given a grade of NM 7. Cards include Yogi Berra #2, Gil Hodges #7, Duke Snider #32, Roy Campanella #31 and Enos Slaughter #58.
Lots 308 - 312 in this sale combine to make up a complete 1951 Bowman card set. This historic baseball card set totals 324 cards and features color-art reproductions of actual photographs. The size of the cards was increased to 2 ¹/16" by 3 ¹/8". For collectors, this is the most valuable of the Bowman sets and one of the more valuable sets ever issued by any maker, due in large part to the presence of rookie cards for both Mickey Mantle (card #253) and Willie Mays (card #305). These are the two most valuable single cards Bowman ever issued.
