Some historians regard Jack Nicklaus’s performance (66-67-68-68-269) in the 1960 World Amateur Team Championship as one of the most dominant performances in golf. Measuring 7” x 10-3/4”, the sheet is hotel stationery from the Haverford Hotel in Haverford, Pennsylvania. The hotel is located just three miles from the Merion Golf Club in Ardmore, home of the 1960 World Amateur Team Championship. The page has been signed by all four members of the American squad: Robert Gardner, Deane Beman, Bill Hyndman and a large, beautiful Jack Nicklaus signature. All of the signatures are done in blue ballpoint pen and rate a 9 overall. The team Captain, Tot Hefflinger, has also signed with an added inscription “(capt.)” and “World Amateur Golf Team. Merion, U.S.A. 1960”. “Haverford, PA 10/1/60” is written at the bottom of the page, and a small “37” is written in the upper right-hand corner, both in pencil. The sheet is in excellent condition, it was folded in half twice with neither of the creases touching any of the signatures. On the verso is a JSA sticker #B72241. An early Jack Nicklaus signature from the start of his Hall of Fame golf career. The sheet is accompanied by a full JSA LOA.
