Hall of Fame coach Elmer Ripley is widely considered to be one of the great basketball coaches of the last century. This set of ten charms originated from Ripley’s personal collection. Seven of the charms are in the shape of a basketball: “N.Y. NATIONALS - PRESENTED BY ROCKAWAY BEACH FRIENDS 1915”; “WORLD’S CHAMPIONS SCRANTON 1920-21”; “CARBONDALE 1928 PENN STATE CHAMPS” with “RIP” on the verso; “E.RIPLEY - COACH - 1928-29” with the Georgetown logo enameled in blue. “YALE ‘34 UNDEFEATED TEAM” in blue paint, engraved with “Y·29 P·26”, “Y·47 H·20”, and “E.H.RIPLEY COACH”; “1936 CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM” enameled in blue, engraved with “E.H.R. COACH”; “FRESHMAN YALE CHAMPIONS 1937 - E.H.R.” Two of the pendants are in the shape of a baseball: “S.I.B.L. CHAMPIONS 1921 - TAPPAN POST - A.L. NO. 125 - E.C.RIPLEY RIGHT FIELD” along with the “SPALDING” logo on the bottom; “E.RIPLEY S.V.W. 1924”. An additional pendant features a casted image of an elk in brass along with what appears to be polished bone or antler. The verso is engraved “EHR -841-”. The pendants are all in EX condition.
