This is a late 1960’s shirt carried over to 1970. Alex Karras was drafted in the first round of the NFL draft by the Detroit Lions in 1958. He quickly became one of the dominant defensive tackles in the NFL, playing for 12 seasons and was named to the All-Decade Team of the 1960’s. On the left front tail is the “Sand-Knit” manufacturer’s tag with wash instructions and size “50”. Above is the “Griswold” distributor’s tag. Player number “71” appears on the front, back and on both shoulders in blue tackle twill. The nameplate has been removed from the back. The jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion, show excellent use. Other than what is mentioned, there appear to be no further alterations of any kind. “Mongo like can-dy.”
