For 10 seasons, Willie Davis anchored the Packers' defensive line, playing 138 consecutive regular-season games, part of 162 consecutive regular-season games for his NFL career. Davis was member to all five of Lombardi's NFL title-winning teams and played in Super Bowls I and II. On the left front tail is the “Sand-Knit” manufacturer’s tag with wash instructions. Attached is the size “54” flag tag sewn over the original size. Inside the rear collar is a second size “54” flag tag. Player number “87” appears on the front, back and on both sleeves in white tackle twill. The sleeves have been shortened, folded inside and rehemmed. On the left front tail is Davis’ signature in black marker which is difficult to read with added inscription “Packers #87”. The jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion, shows outstanding use. Accompanied by a full JSA LOA. There was a name on back put on in preparation for the 1970 season. Davis subsequently retired after the 1969 season and the nameplate was removed. Other that what is mentioned, there appear to be no further alterations of any kind.
