Wooden tambourine measures 8” across. Features seven brass clappers and a natural head skin. The tambourine is accompanied by a LOA from Jack Sperling, professional drummer who played with many great acts including elvis, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis, Jr., Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin. The letter reads, “I played with Janis is a number of recording studio sessions. During one session she was playing this tambourine when the head skin came loose... I asked her if she minded if I kept this piece for my personal collection. Janis said no problem take it my friend.” The tambourine is in fair condition and shows signs of extensive use.
