The Yankee Clipper played his entire 13-year career for the New York Yankees. He is perhaps best known for his 56-game hitting streak (May 15 – July 16, 1941), a record that still stands. DiMaggio was a three-time MVP winner and an All-Star in each of his 13 seasons. During his tenure with the Yankees, the club won ten American League pennants and nine World Series championships. At the time of his retirement, he ranked fifth in career home runs (361) and was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1955. This bat was originally obtained at Fenway Park from a groundskeeper and the date it was obtained “Sept 22/51” is written on the front barrel in black ink. This bat was used during DiMaggio’s last stint in Boston. Underneath is a fading “Fenway Park”. Manuf: H&B. Model Number: D29L Length: 36 in Weight: 34.5 oz Wood: Ash Finish: Standard. Condition: Uncracked. A few ball marks and deep ball impressions are visible on the left, right and back barrel. The model number “D29L” is stamped into the knob. The bat exhibits evidence of light use. Accompanied by a LOA from PSA/DNA. This bat is probably the last bat of DiMaggio’s career on the market and possibly used in the 1951 World Series.
