OAL Johnson baseball signed by 13 members of the 1928 World Champion NY Yankees including Babe Ruth on the sweet spot and Lou Gehrig on the west panel. Other signatures include Joe Dugan, Herb Pennock, Bennie Bengough, Bob Muesel, Pat Collins, Tony Lazzeri, Ben Paschal, Earl Combs, Mark Koenig, Waite Hoyt and George Pipgras. All these signatures are done in black and blue fountain pen rating an overall 6. The signature of Joe Shawkey is of unknown origin. A signature has been removed from the east panel. “World Champions 1927” is written on the ball in an unknown hand. Also written is “St. Petersburg Ball Club 1928”. The ball shows toning and discoloration throughout, accompanied by a copy of a full JSA LOA, B56552.
