This jersey is originally sourced from a relative of Shaquille O’Neal. The Los Angeles Lakers entered the 2000–01 NBA season as the defending NBA Champions. Entering the NBA 2000-01 Finals, the Philadelphia Sixers took Game 1 in a stunning upset 107-101 in OT, handing the Lakers their first loss of that postseason. However, the Lakers went on to win the next four games, punishing the Sixers with their excellent 3-point shooting. The Lakers won the series 4-1 and Shaq was named the Most Valuable Player of the series. This was the second Championship in the Lakers three-peat. On the left front tail is the “Nike” manufacturer’s tag with jersey size “60”. Attached is the “Length+4” flag tag. Inside the left seam is a large flag tag with “2000-01”. Across the front is “LAKERS” done in white tackle twill with a yellow embroidered border. Player number “34” appears on the front and back in the same white tackle twill with a yellow embroidered border. Player name “O’NEAL” appears across the back in yellow on white tackle twill. At the right chest is the “NBA FINALS” embroidered patch. At the left chest is the official NBA embroidered logo. The jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion, shows appropriate use. Accompanied by a copy of a letter of provenance originally signed by Shaq’s relative.
