These items from the 1964 Tokyo Olympics all originated from the personal collection of Jim Barnes, a member of the 1964 gold medal-winning men’s basketball team as well as the 1969 Boston Celtics Championship team. Red and white “Wilson” manufactured basketball shorts. On the front inside waistband is the “Wilson” manufacturer's tag with white flag tag attached, the handwritten text has faded. Eleven 4-1/2” x 6” black and white photos from the opening ceremonies. The photos come in a Fuji Film photo envelope decorated with the 1964 Tokyo Olympics logo and a business card inside that reads “With the compliments of The Governor of Tokyo”. Black wooden case that once housed Barnes’ gold medal, the case is in good condition with a detached hinge and it is decorated with the 1964 Tokyo Olympics logo in gold enamel. Red and white silk flag measuring approximately 15” x 11”, reads “JUEVOS OLIMPICOS TOKIO” on one side with the Olympic rings. The verso reads “FEDERACION PERUANA DE BASKETBALL - F.P.B. - 1964”. Clear acrylic award measuring 4” x 5”, metal inlay features two basketball players, blank plaque below with red and white enameled flag. 11” x 6” silk Japanese flag with the 1964 Olympics logo beneath. Accompanied by a LOA from Jim Barnes’ wife, Gerri Barnes.
