On March 21, 1969, Larry Jones of the Denver Rockets scored his 2,000th point of the season in a home game against the Houston Mavericks. He was the first ABA player to pass the 2,000 points mark and ended up with 2,133 points total for the season. Official “Rawlings” RSS ABA Mikan game-used basketball. The ball has been hand-lettered on one of the blue panels to commemorate Jones’ accomplishment. The ball reads, “LARRY JONES - DENVER ROCKETS - FIRST PLAYER TO SCORE 2000 POINTS IN ONE SEASON - 1968-69 - HOUSTON AT DENVER 3-21-69”. The basketball is in VG condition, shows heavy use and is accompanied by a LOA from Larry Jones.
