The National Industrial Basketball League (NIBL) was founded in 1947, to enable mill workers a chance to compete in basketball. The league was founded by the industrial teams (teams sponsored by the large companies and made up of their employees) belonging to the NBL that did not join the NBA. The Akron Goodyears were a member of the NIBL Eastern division. At the left front tail is the “MacGregor” manufacturer’s tag with jersey size “44”. Adjacent is the “All-Ohio” distributor’s tag. Across the front is “GOODYEAR”. Player number “12” appears on both the front and back. All numbers and letters are done in white tackle twill. The jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion, shows excellent use.
